Bonnie and John met over 45 years ago at the Medical University of South Carolina as they started physical therapy and occupational therapy school respectively. They built their relationship around travel and outdoor adventuring and moved to Oregon in 1979, a state they’ve left and returned to several times as they followed international travel, family connections, and/or grad school opportunities. Bonnie became a special educator for the Forest Grove School District. John taught OT at Pacific University for 25 years, which is what brought them to Forest Grove in the early 90s, and where they raised their two children (a son now living in Vernonia, OR and a daughter living near Sydney, Australia).

When friends Brad & Linda Taylor invited interested folks to begin exploring cohousing, John & Bonnie jumped in and helped create the foundation for Green Grove. They were the first to move into one of the newly constructed homes in 2017. They continue to enjoy the many outdoor offerings of the Northwest, regularly explore hiking trails, campgrounds, and beaches in the area, paddling the many nearby waterways, and bicycling trails and quieter roads. They enjoy sharing music and John plays in a weekly bluegrass jam in Forest Grove. They are enjoying their new Grandson, Milo who was born in the summer of 2023.
