Green Grove Cohousing Community was founded by a progressive co-housing core group which is now seeking new members interested in environmental sustainability, social justice, community service and the arts to join our vibrant, fun-loving, family-friendly community. We are currently building on five semi-rural acres 2 miles from downtown Forest Grove, in the wine country of NW Oregon. The property has a Mt. Hood view, abundant wildlife, and is 26 miles from Portland. The large, lovely historic common house is newly refurbished with dining room seating for 20+, geothermal heating and cooling, plus energy efficient features. The property includes established trees, landscaping, community art studio, orchard, garden, wood shop, and outbuildings with lots of open space for additional outdoor amenities. Infrastructure construction is completed which includes a rainwater catchment pond, 15,000 gallon cistern for irrigation, pumps, roads and pathways, nights-sky protective pathway lighting, underground utilities, a 10-bay carport and storage building with a green roof, and 100ft long solar array which powers the common house. Construction of three free-standing homes featuring high performance green construction ranging between 900 sq. ft. and 1400 sq. ft. are completed and three more are due for completion in March 2020.

The City of Forest Grove, home to historic Pacific University, has robust community arts organizations, a wonderful public library, a lovely historic downtown, a lively farmers market, plus a variety of school choices including the Forest Grove Community School (public gr.1-8 charter), The Early Learning Community (an outstanding preschool-Gr.2 affiliated with Pacific U.), and nearby Swallowtail School, (preschool-8th grade Waldorf school).
